Central School — then and now

Wednesday, January 19, 2005

Fourth- and fifth-graders in Katie Meyer’s class at Central School are doing a beautification project that also recognizes the long history of the school, the oldest operating grade school in the state.

They are putting together scrapbooks of photos and dates sent in by those who attended or taught at Central and also are
planning to improve the boulevards at the school by paving them with bricks engraved with the names of school alumni. The cost is $30 per brick or $100 for four bricks.

For more information on their beautification or history projects, contact the school at 402 N. Warren, Helena, 59601, or call 406-324-1246 (Mrs. Meyer).
