“Eye See Wrong and Right”

by Sarah Cassidy

Is there an eye watching you,
An eye full of lust and love?

Is there an eye peeking behind the curtain,
An eye red and teary?

Is there an eye staring at your soul,
An eye of happiness and compassion?

Is there an eye mimicking your moves,
An eye from which you behold?

Is there an eye stalking your mood,
An eye fearing desire and bliss

Is there an eye where ever you go,
An eye for those who sin

If there’s an eye falling from the sky,
An eye seeing righteous people

There, is an eye fearing for life.

“Open Season”

by Cory Parriman

Early darkness
A rifle in the hands of the predator
A knife at his side
A respect in his heart for the animal taken
A consciousness of presence

Walking briskly and stealthy
I look for something
A creature with flesh and blood like mine
A creature that has a heart and soul like mine
Both of us running off instincts

The squinted eyes picking through the thick snowfall
The nose does not seek the fragrance of emissions
The ear does not seek the sounds of the city in the white silence
Scanning the barren clearings and desolate, ghost-like trees
From a ridge where the wind swirls violently, I stand
At the mercy of nature’s court.

“I Know People”

by Jami Berg

I know there are people.
People outside the windows,
Listening behind closed doors,
Pretend to be friends for your trust... is free,
To only steal from you then stomp on your heart.

I know there are people.
People that mind there own business,
And really do care,
People that aim to please,
Who smile and brighten your day,
Who are there just for you.

What kind of people are you?

“Cry of Freedom”

by Zen

In the land of puritans and anarchists
Where free elections are a joke
We all claim freedom
But who is really free
Who has justice?
Who has unquestionable rights?
Who has the right?
Not me
Not you
Maybe none
We cry for freedom
But deny to those in real need
In favor of trade and commerce
And cheap child labor
So your pampered brat can have
His thousand dollar shoe
Wage war in evil theocracies
Who’s the real theocracy?
Denying rights over Christian values
We want every one to act like us
To dress like us think like us
You think they hate us for our freedom
You think they hate us for family values
Try our foreign policy
100 years
Of spreading democracy
Maybe we keep to ourselves
We want our freedom
We cry of cheap crap
But not in my back yard
Not no my front lawn
So send the jobs to third world countries
So we can buy our expensive shoes
And inflate our pathetic egos
Go drive your truck
And then you tell me to get a job
But you don’t want the one you have
Cry for freedom
You can cry on my shoulder
If I can cry on yours.

“America We Stand!”

by Brett Whitney

I hate to creep when I sleep
We will defeat as they retreat
We will put Iraq in a sack
All there is here is a Shack
We will Attack
We are all Americans
Who will always fight back
It’s the way we react

I shun the liberals
As I make ripples
This country is fowl
They should throw in their towel
I run through the field
I don’t need a shield
This lunatic is sealed
For Sadaum I drop bombs
I kill everyone in Iraq
Including there moms

America is my Bible
Kerry’s recital
Wasn’t vital
He is far from an idol
I think he needs midol
